Athletic Training/Biomechanics Faculty Position
DESCRIPTION: The University of Georgia seeks to fill a full‐time, tenure‐track position at the assistant professor rank in the area of athletic training/biomechanics. We seek the highest quality scholar with research and teaching expertise in biomechanics and a CAATE accredited athletic training education program. This is an academic-year appointment that begins in August, 2013.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in appropriate field of research: Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Biomechanics or similar. Evidence of successful research, teaching, and potential for securing external funding. Certified Athletic Trainer credential with at least 3 years of clinical experience. Eligible for Georgia licensure.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in athletic training and biomechanics. Establish a focused line of research in biomechanics involving undergraduate and graduate students. Seek external funding for research projects and educational programs. Advise graduate students, and direct master’s and doctoral students’ thesis and dissertation research. Participate in the development of the athletic training and biomechanics programs and serve on department, college, and university committees.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Kinesiology has 23 full‐time faculty members and offers B.S.Ed., M.S., and Ph.D. programs in the academic areas of athletic training, exercise science, physical education, and sport management. Department faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their scholarly accomplishments.
