Position Description:

Monday 12-8p; Tuesday 9a-5p; Wednesday 12-8p; Thursday 12-8p; Friday 9a-5p with flexibility to meet program needs

Qualifications: A.A. or equivalent education of experience in a human service field. One year of direct service experience and familiarity with issues of violence against women. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred. Must have prior experience working with children and adult survivors of domestic violence Experience in housing and workforce development preferred. Must have group work experience and comfort working with variety of topics including domestic violence and financial management. Must be comfortable in public speaking. Residential experience preferred. Experience working with diverse populations required. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and working telephone. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work evenings to meet the programs needs.

SHP Duties and Responsibilities: 15 hours Conduct weekly group/workshops for program participants utilizing Allstate Foundation Moving Ahead through Financial Management curriculum and other curriculums as approved to include various workshops on housing and other life skills. Conduct initial intake on all program participants who enter program. Assist each family who engage in services in developing an Individualized Service Plan within 2 weeks to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency and permanent housing and meet bi-weekly to develop and assist with goals. Provide support to participants in career planning. Complete safety plans with all participants as necessary. Network in the community to ensure that participants have access and information on educational and vocational resources to include employment prospects. Makes appropriate referrals and follow-up with participants. Provide advocacy and assistance to participants to empower them to meet their individual needs based on their goals and service plan, motivating them to access community resources. Attend biweekly case review and supervision and provide ongoing participant updates. Collaborate with DCF(as applicable) on family service planning that is strengths-based and participant-defined; maintain ongoing communication as necessary. Support positive residential environment and teamwork. Maintains client records and completes required paperwork according to deadlines. Provides crisis intervention as needed. Assist participants in adhering to program rules and guidelines. Provide transportation as needed and adhere to all safety laws/policies regarding seat belts, car seat requirements and speed limits at all times. Performs other related duties as needed. CBDV Duties and Responsibilities: 22.5 hours Provide individual counseling to battered women from the community for 1-2 sessions with a focus on safety planning and options for immediate needs to be met. Work in collaboration with hotline workers in order to get referrals from hotline. Conduct community groups for domestic violence. Initiates contact with outside resources. Makes appropriate referrals and follow-up with clients. Maintains client records and complete monthly billing. Provide court accompaniment to shelter residents as necessary. Provide transportation to clients as needed and adhere to all safety laws/policies regarding seat belts, car seat requirements and speed limits at all times. Attends required meetings and supervision Performs other related duties as needed.
