Position Description:

Deliver timely and effective service and support related to technology to all staff, faculty and students.

The Information Technology Department at Dean College invites applications for a Technology Service Center Technician. This position is responsible for delivering timely and effective service and support related to technology to all staff, faculty and students. Technology includes: •Network connectivity •Laptops, desktops and printers •A/V equipment •Classroom technology •College-wide phone system •TV service •New technologies implemented on campus. •Events

The Technician will also provide support before (set up), during, and after (break down) campus-wide events and meetings.

Job Duties include but are not limited to the following: 1.Enter tickets for all reported technology issues into the ticketing system including those for students, faculty and staff that come to the Service Center desk. 2.Respond to phone, e-mail requests and tickets entered into the ticketing system. Problem resolution may be performed over the phone, by visiting the user’s desk, remotely accessing user’s computer or responding to email. 3.Set up and support technology during College events. 4.Monitor tickets, communicate status and work toward timely resolution of all problems. 5.After initial troubleshooting, if unable to resolve, escalate tickets to appropriate IT staff to most effectively resolve issues. 6.Work as a team with Service Center and other IT staff to ensure timely and effective support of students, faculty and staff. 7.Maintain and support classroom and computer lab technology: •Troubleshoot A/V issues including projectors and control systems. •Keep workstations up to date and running effectively. 8.Continuously strive to learn and broaden technical expertise in all areas supported.

Required Qualifications •Associates Degree in Computer Science, Business Technology or related field •Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. •Troubleshooting skills for Windows, Mac OS and networking. •Strong customer service skills. •Strong prioritization and organizational skills. •Knowledge of A/V equipment. •Previous Support experience.
