Position Description:
| We are currently looking for dynamic sales career driven candidates for an Associate Retirement Plan Sales Representative to be a part of our New England Sales team at The Principal Financial Group in Boston, MA.
Initially as an associate sales representative your primary focus will include but is not limited to:
Successfully obtaining the required FINRA securities and insurance licensing needed for the role within an aggressive timeline
Quickly learn the retirement plan business to prepare you for the opportunity to drive sales within an assigned territory as directed by the VP of Sales.
Once you have successfully secured the required licensing and gained the required knowledge of the business needed for the associate retirement plan sales representative, you have the ability to directly impact territory sales, overall business unit success, and your compensation through the following:
Developing and executing sales plans
Building relationships within your assigned territory
Successfully market Total Retirement Suite solutions through intermediaries for plans up to 2M in assets
Successful candidates will have the following skills:
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree required at time of hire or equivalent
0-2 years of relevant job experience (which would include but not limited to the following: financial services related experience, sales related experience, sales related internship)
For recent college graduates with limited experience, looking for exceptional leadership, academic, or athletic achievement during college experience
Strong interest in a career in external sales
strong academic or work related presentation experiences
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects
Must have sales aptitude and strong relationship building skills.
Licensing will be required based on state/federal laws and/or company policy in accordance with current licensing policy.
Requires ability to work independently, excellent and persuasive written and oral communication (including telephone) skills, excellent training and presentation skills, basic computer skills
Willingness to travel within the identified territory as needed for this position
This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions.
Preferred skills:
Active FINRA Series 6, Series 63, and Life and Health licensing up front
Previous retirement plan internal wholesaling experience
Experience working with retirement plans
Experience working with and/or building relationships within the financial advisor community
Internship related experience within financial services sales
Demonstrated ability to meet and/or exceed established sales goals
Bachelor’s degree in business-related degree preferred
Background Check Requirements:
Employment at Principal is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Because of the nature of the duties of this position, a driving record check and a FINRA securities licensing check are also required.
