Student Life Coordinator
The Student Life Coordinator (SLC) in Career Services is a live-in professional staff appointment within the office of Housing and Residential Life. Half of the position is in the office of Career Services providing support and coordination. Duties include marketing and coordinating career related events, internship coordination, and supervision of one student worker. The other half of the position is in Residential Life. The SLC is responsible for the management and operation of a residential area of campus, consisting of approximately 75-100 residents. More specifically, duties include: supervision, training, and evaluation of approximately 3-4 Resident Assistants, providing educational and developmental opportunities for students through advisement and programming, enforcing the Community Constitution and Bylaws (including Dorm Charters), supervising Housing & Residential Life and Student Life initiatives and providing support to Plant Operations by responding to and communicating maintenance and custodial concerns. This position requires significant evening and weekend availability.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Knowledge of counseling practices, administrative ability, supervisory skills and interpersonal skills desired. Experience in a career development setting, marketing, PR, or other similar setting highly desired. Minimum of one to two years of residence hall supervisory experience highly preferred. Basic First Aid and CPR are required; training will be provided.
Terms of Employment
Dates of employment are tentatively August 1, 2013 through June 1, 2014. Compensation includes a bi-weekly pay rate of $936.25 (or an annual equivalent of $22,000) over the course of 47 weeks, meal plan when the college is in session and a pro-rated benefit package for the term of employment. An on-campus apartment is provided for the full calendar year (subject to employment for the following academic year).
