Job Summary: Here is your opportunity to join the design team responsible for creating product and packaging for Yankee Candle, America's Best Loved Candle Brand! If you are a creative, self-directed individual ready to become part of a dynamic organization where your thoughts and design ideas will be acknowledged and live in a worldwide brand, then our in-house marketing team is the place for you. Working to support the Fragrance, Design, Brand & Innovation Teams, you will be responsible for the development of creative packaging graphics and a variety of product designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

•Referencing market data and utilizing product knowledge to develop packaging and label graphic designs, as well as creative candle & non-candle product concepts to meet internal and external customer needs. •Utilizing graphic software to design and produce finished artwork/materials and at times, preparing materials manually while providing creative content using brand standards to multiple deliverables. •Creating and preparing electronic design files used for prepress and production activities. •Making creative decisions impacting layout of text/images, sizing and color selections, etc. •Evaluating design feasibility based on factors such as cost parameters, substrates, manufacturer/printer limitations, etc. Based on complexities of projects, determining best way to build inter-related files to extend existing designs across related product forms and/or brands. •Managing image assets within digital image database and preparing PDF versions of creative files. Managing internal proofing of designs including color/content/placement, etc. •Ensuring final art releases meet deadlines. Maintaining high level of detail while working with deadline time pressures and changing priorities. •Modifying and refining designs to conform to customer specification, production limitations and or changes in design trends. •Presenting designs and product concepts in a concise and professional manner. •Participating in continuous improvement practices as assigned to keep each work process efficient and effective. Staying abreast of technological advances in the field and identifying areas of use within the organization. •Interacting with printers regarding prepping print ready files for approval to satisfy project requirements.

Minimum Requirements: •Bachelors Degree in Design or related field. •4 plus years of product packaging graphics within a CPG company experience preferred. •Thorough understanding of pre-press and on-press production processes. •Proficient in Mac functions, CS5: Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Suite. •Proven interpersonal skills, and written/verbal communication skills including the ability to influence and persuade with diplomacy and tact. •Confident in presenting designs and product concepts in a concise and professional manner. •Ability to work independently or in team environments in a fast paced, time sensitive changing environment. •Strong attention to detail, ability to be well organized and to maintain a high level of efficiency. Experience in coordinating photography and illustration a plus. •Solid planning & organizational skills, including a pro-active ability to manage multiple priorities.

Flexibility in work schedule is also required; this may include possible extended hours with minimal notice to meet project expectations.
