The Admissions Counselor is an entry-level position within the admissions department. The Admissions Counselor will help identify, recruit, admit and enroll academically qualified traditional or non-traditional/transfer students, primarily through on-campus visits with students and families. Extensive travel is required. Approximately twelve (12 ) weeks out of the year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Admissions Counselor will participate as an active member of the recruitment team; identify, recruit and enroll students; attend college fairs as a representative of AIC; travel to local high-schools and community colleges to host college information sessions; develop meaningful relationship with on and off-campus constituents to implement succesful events; conduct office-based contact by mail and phone; and other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree required; 1-3 years of professional experience preferred but not required
•Represent the admissions office and the College in a professional manner keeping with the philosophy and educational goals of American International College
•Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong commitment to customer service, and student focus
•Ability to adapt and problem-solve as needed, especially under pressure
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Must have a valid driver’s license
•Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours;
•Loading and transporting of admissions materials,displays, and other equipment
•Good sense of humor
The Admissions Counselor is a full time, twelve (12) month, exempt position. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department. This is a benefit eligible position. Review of applications begins immediately.
