Position Description:
| The Dedham Community House is looking for a motivated and responsible individual to fill the position of Aquatics Director for our outdoor pool during the 2013 summer season. Located right in the heart of Dedham Square, we serve over 400 children each summer with our summer camp, over 100 families with our pool membership program as well as over 100 participants in our swim lesson and aquatic exercise programs. The Aquatics Director (AD) is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the day-to-day operation of the summer aquatics program which includes swim lessons and open swim for summer day camp, preschool, youth and family swim lessons and membership open swim. The AD is responsible for the scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of all lifeguards and instructors, insuring that complete coverage for all aquatic programs is maintained. The AD will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe aquatic environment through safety checks, equipment maintenance, and appropriate water testing, among other procedures insuring the pool is always kept to the standards required per Massachusetts regulations. The qualified candidate will be 21 years of age or older, have current ARC or YMCA certifications in Lifeguarding, Water Safety Instruction (W.S.I.), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, O2 and First Aid, and have at least two years’ experience in instruction and management of aquatics programs and pool maintenance.
