Position Description:

Seeking applicants for the position of Summer Police Officer. Individuals that are hired for the 2013 season will begin employment around the 3rd week in May and conclude on Labor Day weekend. Wellfleet is located on Cape Cod with a population of 3000. During the summer season the population swells to somewhere between 17,000-20,000. Duties will consist of various types of patrols: cruiser, bicycle and foot with an emphasis on "Community Policing". The Wellfleet Police Department has a history of launching an individual's Law Enforcement Career! Our alumni have established careers with some of the following agencies: - Special Agent of the FBI - Special Agent of the US State Dept. - State Police - County Sheriff's Office - City & Town Municipalities including the position of Detective with The New York City Police Department.
