Personal Care Specialist, Part-time Children Services, In-Home Supports (IHS) www.moorecenter.org/moorejobs About the position The Personal Care Specialists (PCS) will provide support to children with developmental disabilities. PCS provides assistance and ensuring the well-being of the child. Personal care includes assistance and training with basic daily living skills, such as communication, socialization, health and personal safety, and physical functioning The Moore Center’s In-Home Supports program provides personal care services for children that live at home with their family. This current opening is in the greater Manchester area. This is a part-time position. Essential skills and responsibilities may include: •Engage individual in community based activities •Employ therapeutic strategies to increase socially appropriate behaviors •Transport client •Provide crisis intervention and redirection •Record documentation Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: •High school degree or equivalent •Criminal, motor vehicle, and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services background checks that meet agency standards •Provide adequate transportation for clients, which includes having access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license and maintaining personal auto insurance of $100,000/300,000 •Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently; daily documentation is required Ideal Qualifications: •Experience working with children with Autism and/or non-verbal children •Experience providing direct support or personal care •College of Direct Support certificate •Comfort using basic technologies such as desktop computers and Microsoft Office The Moore Center is one of New Hampshire's largest human services organizations, providing services to over 2,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders, as well as award-winning, innovative programs for children, adults and senior citizens.
