Special Education Reading Teacher
We are seeking candidates for an anticipated vacancy as a long-term substitute Special Education Teacher serving middle school students with significant language-related learning disabilities. The teaching responsibilities include multiple sections of reading tutorial focused upon decoding and fluency instruction along with one section of pull-out English. Demonstrated ability to meet the learning needs of students with reading and communication impairments, and to work collaboratively with professional and paraprofessional colleagues is essential. Training and experience with the delivery of specialized reading and writing instructional methodologies such as Wilson Language System and Lindamood Bell LIPS are strongly preferred. Position will start March 18, 2013 to allow for overlap with current teacher and run through the end of the school year.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification in the appropriate areas of Special Education, Level 5-9, is required.
