Peer Bridger: Offer individual support and advocacy to people moving from hospital settings into the community by informing of rights, connecting to resources, supporting the person's voice and choice to be heard and other activities as identified by the person moving through the transition process. Some outreach and group facilitation also involved. Willingness to use personal vehicle and periodically travel as far as Worcester required. 20 hours based in Franklin/Hampshire County. 30 hours based in Hampden County. Likely start date of late December or January, 2013.
Peer Community Coordinator @ Bowen Center: Offer community support, schedule and calendar development and oversight. Based in Springfield. 26 hours.
Peer Worker @ Bowen Center: Offer community support with a focus on our wellness center that offers a variety of exercise opportunities. Some group facilitation of exercise videos (Zumba, etc.) desired. Based in Springfield.
Peer Worker in Franklin County: APPLICATION DATE EXTENDED: Support the growth and development of the RLC's Franklin County community including group and training facilitation, peer support and administrative responsibilities.
12 to 16 hours per week.
The Western Mass RLC is a Peer-run community where individuals can use the wisdom and knowledge gained through their lived experience in an intentional way to support one another and build connections and opportunities to heal.
All positions require the ability to work independently, clear written communication, computer literacy, basic administrative/organizational skills and lived experience with a psychiatric diagnosis, trauma or extreme states required. Bilingual/Bicultural in English and Spanish or ASL, Intentional Peer Support training and/or Certified Peer Specialist training a plus.
