Position Description:

Covenant Village of Cromwell, (Cromwell, Connecticut), part of a nation wide family of CARF-CCAC accredited CCRC's: Covenant Retirement Communities, 5th largest AAHSA Ziegler Top 100, is seeking an Residential Living (RL) Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to conceptualize, plan, coordinate, and execute the Covenant Village of Cromwell residential living (“RL”) whole-person wellness, fitness, creative arts, activities, volunteer, and inter-generational programs. The position is charged with actualizing the dimensions of the CRC Lifeconnect® philosophy in RL and, in that spirit, to collaborate and coordinate across the care continuum.

The successful candidate will have: Three years' experience working with senior adults in wellness activities or a related field, required. Bachelor Degree in a related field, preferred. Training or experience in whole-person wellness, fine arts, campus activities, crafts, or a related field, preferred.

This position reports to the executive director and may also take direction from other campus leaders. It oversees residential living activities which includes: creative arts, volunteer programming, on- and off-campus cultural programming, and inter-generational programming. In performance of duties, the Residential Living Coordinator is entrusted to be the RL Lifeconnect® champion, providing expert and balanced support to the social, physical, emotional, spiritual, community, vocational, and intellectual wellness of every RL resident. Integrates new residents into campus life and the surrounding community. Acts as a liaison for resident concerns and needs. Collaborates with the RL activities committee in planning, implementing, and facilitating social, creative, and wellness programs at Covenant Village of Cromwell. Programs include structured individual and group activities, naturally occurring individual and group activities, and resident-led events and activities. All underlying purpose and visible programs shall be in accordance with Lifeconnect®. Plans events outside the facility such as educational outings, special trips, fine arts performances, cultural events, and other off-campus trips. Keeps current with trends in the field of whole-person wellness programming for older adults. Works collaboratively with the CRC national director of wellness.

The position requires a current Connecticut driver's license and a good driving record. This individual must possess excellent communication skills (English, oral and written) with poise and confidence in personal contact with residents, staff, and/or the general public. The position requires a highly motivated individual who demonstrates organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. Creativity, emotional intelligence, initiative, and the ability to follow through are essential. This position further requires the ability to understand the needs of the aging adult. Must also demonstrate an understanding of customer service. Support of CRC and its mission statement is required.
