Position Title:

Asst. Athletic Communications Director (705)


Position Description:

This assists the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications in publicizing American’s 16 intercollegiate athletic teams and in the writing, editing and publishing of all external athletic publications. This position will write and edit external athletic publications in order to provide accurate and relevant information to the public and the media. This position works under general supervision.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, or a related field is required. Minimum Requirements: - Extensive experience in sports information and with game statistics programs necessary - Working knowledge of Macintosh and IBM systems, including the Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and all Microsoft Programs - Experience in social media, video, broadcast, and photography - Strong writing skills and web publishing knowledge Additional Information: The successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required.
