MOVE groups (Certified Batterer Intervention) and Anger Management Do you have professional counseling experience? Do you have a solid understanding about the dynamics of domestic violence? Are you interested in working with men who are abusive? Are you available to work in the evenings? Do you want to be part of a social justice program that helps to promote positive masculinity?

Group Leader: Male Group Leaders needed to co-lead Batterer Intervention Groups with female co-leaders in the Moving Forward Program in Pittsfield and North Adams. Per Diem $20 per hour.

Moving Forward offers Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) groups throughout the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires. All groups are co-facilitated by male and female co-leaders, with regular monthly supervision and staff meetings on the 3rd Thursday 9-12pm.

We provide educational counseling and intervention for individuals with controlling and/or abusive behaviors towards intimate partners. The goal of our program is to teach clients how to stop physical, emotional, verbal, economic or sexual abuse toward their partners. During the program, clients are encouraged to stop blaming others for what they do and to take full responsibility for their behavior. They are taught to recognize potentially explosive situations before they erupt and to choose specific alternatives to abusive behavior. Moving Forward’s MOVE groups are a Massachusetts DPH Certified Batterer Intervention Program and has been running BIP and Anger Management groups since 1989.
