Ice Hockey Equipment Manager

Position Description:

The Ice Hockey Equipment Manager will assist with all aspects of operations for home and away intercollegiate ice hockey contests. At the direction of the Head Ice Hockey Coach, the Equipment Manager will follow guidelines and procedures that have been established for day-to-day team management for the College by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Keeps stock and record of new and used athletic supplies, uniforms, and issues supplies to players Prepares budget estimate for supplies and purchases supplies Informs Head Ice Hockey Coach when additional supplies are needed Inspects supplies in stock to detect those requiring repair or cleaning Repairs torn or damaged supplies or sends supplies out for repair Issues new or clean supplies to players in exchange for supplies that are worn or unclean Launder soiled uniforms and supplies or arrange to have supplies cleaned Packs and unpacks supplies for road trips and ensures that arrangements are made for transportation Accompanies players on trips Modifies protective supplies, adding additional arch supports to skates, padding uniforms and helmets, or preparing slings for injured players, under specific directions from Sports Instructor or Athletic Trainer QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or experience equivalent to completion of an Associate's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience Multi-task with frequent interruptions Ability to perform some manual labor including lifting and moving of heavy sports equipment Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule, with nights and weekends mandatory Contributes to building a positive team spirit WORK HOURS/SCHEDULE: Ice Hockey Equipment Manager is a part-time, exempt position with no benefits.
