Direct Support Staff - Relief Residential Services About the position
To train, coach and support the individuals we serve to promote the highest level of independence, and to assist these individuals to learn new skills. Responsible for remaining on shift until adequate coverage can be provided as determined by House Manager or designated responsible person (Senior Person on shift). Responsible for consistent implementation of resident programming training (Service Agreement Goals & Objectives: daily living skills, i.e. bathing, dressing, meal preparation; community, access, i.e. shopping, leisure activities, concerts, sports, etc.).
The Moore Center’s Residential Services program provides adults over 21 with developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders with various services in residential settings. Three community residences are staffed 24 hours a day, providing services to people who require a high level of support, structure and personal care. This current opening is in the Greater Manchester area. This is a relief position. Essential skills and responsibilities: •Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in a group setting to increase the skills of the individuals we serve and their quality of life in the community. •Demonstrate a strong emphasis on customer service skills, both to our clients and all staff •Moore Center Services, Inc. considers it in the best interest of the clients we serve that the ability to speak, read and write English are essential functions of all positions. •Maintain a positive attitude including the use of positive language while working with the individuals we serve and team members. •Ability to individualize the supports needed for the individuals we serve. •Ability to work with a variety of the individuals we serve on a daily basis. •Ability to successfully complete the MOAB 1 and 2 trainings. •Ability to successfully complete medication training if applicable. •Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and daily assignments Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent •Experience in the field of developmental services preferred •Valid driver’s license and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours •Criminal, motor vehicle, and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services background checks that meet agency standards •Provide adequate transportation for clients, which includes having access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license and maintaining personal auto insurance of $100,000/300,000 •Proven ability to adapt to change •Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently; daily documentation is required •Comfort using basic technologies such as desktop computers and Microsoft Office The Moore Center The Moore Center is one of New Hampshire’s largest human services organizations, providing services to over 2,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders, as well as award-winning, innovative programs for children, adults and senior citizens.
