Position Description:

The Department of Exercise and Sport Studies at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, invites applicants for a full-time, two-year Lecturer position. The Department offers a M.S. degree in Exercise and Sport Studies with an emphasis on coaching women’s athletic teams, an undergraduate minor in Exercise and Sport Studies, and a large performance program. The successful applicant should have the ability and interest to teach in two of the following areas: motor learning, pedagogy, biomechanics/kinesiology, or exercise physiology. Specifically, the applicant should be prepared to apply the disciplines of exercise and sports studies in Smith’s graduate coaching education program. We prefer someone with a doctorate and with collegiate coaching experience but will consider exceptional individuals with a master’s degree, demonstrated knowledge in coaching education, and collegiate coaching experience.
