Position Description:
| The Springfield Museums seeks an outgoing individual to join the Education Department as our new Outreach Educator. Primary responsibilities include conducting a variety of interdisciplinary history, literacy, and science outreach programs in schools throughout Western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. The Outreach Educator will also assist with school programs, special events, and outreach program development as needed.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is required, as is a minimum Associate's degree in Education, History, Science, or a related field; A Bachelor's degree is preferred. A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are also required. Some aspects of this position may require standing for long periods of time, and lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
This position is part-time, $12.05 per hour, and requires flexible availability Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm in addition to occasional nights and weekends as needed, for up to 15 hours per week.
