Front of House Manager (Theatre Arts)
Assure the safe and effective use of public spaces in the theatres through pre-event planning with the SUPD and user organizations and through implementation of the university's emergency response system.
Work with the Theatre Department Office Coordinator to schedule and train work-study students as ushers.
Maintain public spaces in the three theatres to maximize their functional and aesthetic potential.
Organize hospitality in the front of house for users and guests of the theaters, including book sales, receptions and Suffolk police details.
Supervise box office management to assure that theatre users effectively plan and implement ticketing services and financial oversight.
Manage the vendor providing on-line and phone center ticketing services for university use and related data bases.
Assist the Marketing Director to develop, disseminate, and display marketing materials.
Along with the Office Coordinator, provide reception in the Studio Theatre and other support during regular office hours as needed.
B. A. required, Master's Degree preferred.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
A flexible schedule with availability on evening and weekend nights.
Experience with Front of House (House Management, Box Office Management, Special Events, etc) in professional and/or educational theatre.
Ability to work independently, plan and problem-solve.
Proficient with assigned Micro-Soft Office, various data bases.
