Executive Director, Wilbraham Public Access Television


Position Description:

Salary: Grade 3 ($38,229 Min, $47,187 Mid, $56,148 Max) Full time (35 hrs/week); salaried; exempt from overtime; full benefits package.

Location: 28 Springfield Street, “Little Red Schoolhouse”

Examples of duties: Manages the operation of the Town’s public access television studio and channels under the guidance of the PATV Committee and under administrative direction by the Town Administrator; works with IT, the technology committee and Cable TV Advisory Committee; supervises one part-time employee and many volunteers, maintains operation of technical equipment; develops programming, engages in community outreach, works with students, coordinates training and information sessions for individuals and groups; monitors cable operator compliance with terms of contract; advocate for policies that preserve Public Access; responsible for developing, presenting and overseeing operating budget; responsible for administration of all departmental matters; produces reports and other documents for the town, school department and others; coordinates installation of system equipment and peripherals and troubleshoots simple technical issues; works with equipment vendors.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, preferred in a field related to television production; two to three years experience in TV/video production editing, programming and cable system training, preferably in a municipal or school setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires knowledge of copyright laws, FCC regulations and demonstrated ability to interpret Federal, State and local agency rules that affect broadcasting, technical knowledge of modern TV production, editing, and digital information systems; proven administrative skills, ability to work independently; ability to troubleshoot equipment and to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
