Corp. Partnership Executive
General Statement of Duties:
The Canton NBA D-League (National Basketball Association Development League), operated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Canton Memorial Civic Center seek a teachable and dedicated individual to create and sell integrated corporate partnerships. The Corporate Partnership Executive constantly relates to the client as a business advisor, economist, advertising counselor and marketing/merchandising coordinator. The Corporate Partnership Executive is expected to work special events and all home games, as well as normal business hours. This position will report to the Director of Corporate Partnership Sales.
Meet or exceed established goals set yearly for new business.
Establish and grow existing and new partners selling: radio; signage; print; community relations; hospitality; promotions; and digital assets.
Prospect new business clients via:
o Investigative appointments – gathering information about the prospective company.
o Discussions with key decision makers and learning their needs.
o Effective presentations – satisfying their needs through integrated solutions.
o Dynamic programs – developing new and exciting promotions.
o Managing obstacles – reacting to and overcoming problems and objectives.
o Accurate closing – executing contract, billing and collecting revenue.
Follow-up – implementing all aspects of the partnership while working daily or as needed with the partner services area to ensure all of the following:
o Assist and direct the implementation of promotions, develop POP displays, arrange prizes, coordinate media, write announcements.
o Follow-up on all deadlines, making sure all materials are on time.
o Ensure proper traffic of all media.
o Coordinate details of partner group nights, i.e. book dinners, arrange speakers, coordinate personnel.
o Act as liaison between partner and Community Relations Team for player/announcer appearances.
o Oversee and present recaps on all partner involvement.
o Ensure that all NBA D-League and team regulations are properly adhered to.
o Attend client meetings to educate their support staffs on programs.
o Submit timely reports to management, including weekly sales revenue reports.
Renew all existing business.
Entertain and nurture relationships with current prospective clients through the various means available.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required.
Education or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University and a minimum of two years experience in sports, media, and/or direct sales; sports/event marketing experience is required.
