Position Description:
| Serve as a Physical Therapist at Sargent College's Physical Therapy Clinic, The Ryan Center (80% of time). Deliver quality patient care with adherence to state regulatory requirements and in alignment with current clinic philosophy. Supervise physical therapy students. Maintain frequent communication with other staff, patients, referring providers and insurance companies.
Participate in continued professional development consistent with clinic and APTA philosophies. Act as clinical leader in both academic and clinical environments. Serve as a clinical instructor for students at various levels, providing clinical teaching consistent with content being taught in academic coursework. For 20% of the time, support the academic programs within the College's Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. Serve as a lab instructor, participating in one lab each academic semester.
Deliver all scheduled lab sessions, practical examinations, grade homework assignments and attend weekly meetings with primary faculty. Assist, as needed, with student advising, recruitment, committee service, editorial boards, study sections, government policy groups, manuscript review, and serving on professional/academic associations.
Required Skills
Masters degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program, Massachusetts state physical therapist licensure, and three to five years of work experience. APTA board certified clinical specialist preferred. Residency/fellowship training in Orthopedic, Sports or Manual Therapy preferred.
