Position Description:
| Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Affairs, the Social Worker will be part of the College community in providing mental health services to students at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. This role will coordinate all internal and external resources to ensure that students are able to effectively handle the challenges of College life in a productive and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Works cooperatively with all faculty and staff in understanding and working with the student population;
Provides counseling, life coaching and crisis management in managing student issues and concerns;
Coordinates internal and external student services to facilitate an effective plan for students of concern;
Provides psychological assessment to identify a student's ability to remain in or return to College;
Provides on-call psychological services to address students' mental health issues; and,
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
LICSW or a related license;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent relationship building and clinical instincts;
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with College faculty and staff, as well as with external resources and service providers; and
Excellent crisis management skills.
