Program Manager - Amherst, NY

Position Description:

Amherst, NY: The Program Manager is responsible for the management of facility operations and procedures. Specific duties include: Establishing and maintaining a solid client relationship. Development of annual strategic plan and attainment of short- and long-term program goals. Budget management and reporting. Hiring, training and supervision of full and part time staff; Staff development and performance management. Providing mentorship to college interns. Development, delivery and evaluation of health promotion, incentive and other specialty programs. Performing fitness assessments, determining exercise prescriptions and conducting first workouts for a diverse population, including high risk exercise participants. Supervising and monitoring exercise floor. Providing administrative support to members, including membership enrollments, terminations and general inquiries. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor level degree in Exercise Science or a related field. ACSM Health Fitness Specialist certification strongly desired. Minimum three (3) years experience in a fitness center environment, preferable corporate wellness. Prior management experience a plus. Current CPR/AED & First Aid certifications Experience teaching group exercise, or demonstration of ability to learn how to instruct classes Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet).
