REPORTS TO: SSW Field Office Director of Field Education
We are interested in applicants who area available beginning immediately and through the summer and into next school year.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Graduate Assistant will assist the Field Office Director of Field Education, under the direction of the Field Office Administrative Secretary, with field office functions such as processing requests for information regarding field education in the School of Social Work. The position involves providing assistance with the placement function and may include updating data bases.
The Graduate Assistant will work the hours that are agreed upon with the Field Office Director on the agreed upon schedule. The position is for between ten and twenty hours per week.

Specific required skills include:
(1) The ability to report to work on time and regularly;
(2) The ability to follow directions;
(3) The ability to complete required tasks and accept supervision;
(4) The ability to work with diverse populations;
(5) The ability to effectively solve problems
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
(1) Processing and completing field placement requests;
(2) Filing;
(3) Preparing copies;
(4) Executing errands;
(5) Assisting as needed with special projects;
(6) Assisting with and answering student questions;
(7) Other duties as assigned.
The Graduate Assistant in the Field Office is expected to behave legally and ethically in the conduct of duties associated with the School of Social Work, avoiding any actions or involvement in procedures not approved by qualified supervisors. The Graduate Assistant must respect the integrity of all the individuals with whom they work, including supervisors, administrative staff, students, faculty, and community representatives. Should they be involved with filing of student records or be exposed to other student information, the Graduate Assistant in the Field Office must maintain confidentiality at all times. Must be work-study eligible - 10 hours per week required.
