ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR COUNSELING/STAFF ASSISTANT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Counseling works under the
supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Aid and is responsible for the
day to day management of the customer service center dedicated to counseling
students and their families on the financial aid application process, program eligibility,
and alternative financing options. This position will provide confidential counseling via
electronic mail, on the telephone, and at the walk-in customer service center.
The successful candidate will supervise staff and develop a comprehensive
training program for support staff, student staff and summer HELP line staff to
educate employees on all aspects of Financial Aid. The Assistant Director acts
as a resource point person for all levels of customer service staff to
effectively counsel current and prospective students.
1. Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience in higher education
administration are required.
2. The successful candidate must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft
Excel and Word
3. Excellent written and oral communication.
4. The ability to work with a diverse student body and staff.
5. Experience in Financial Aid is preferred.
Hiring Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,300 Normal Starting Salary: $40,100 - $45,200
PROFESSIONAL STAFF SALARY ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM POSITION LEVEL 26.
