Sports & Recreation
Our headquarters in Pembroke, MA performs much of the senior management, organization and administration for the operation and programming of our 23 locations. A combination of senior directors, managers, coordinators and customer care agents are located in the office, working together as a team to accomplish the organizations goals of growing participation and enjoyment of ice sports.
In addition to selling ice time and offering general admission skating sessions, the company has organized a programming department that develops and delivers ice skating and ice hockey programs oriented to the grass roots and developmental segment of the ice sports community. FMC’s goal with programming is to expose as many people as possible in our service areas to the joy and benefits of ice sports and to retain their interest by offering affordable and fun programming.
The Programs Manager positions will work in a team to develop, promote and implement a full range of programming initiatives from a neutral Learn to Skate to advanced skating options for both figure skating and hockey. Managers will first be responsible to the team, strategizing initiatives to fulfill company objectives and managing core programming functions with and through the Customer Support Team. Each Manager will then be assigned a specific area of responsibility based on their experience and expertise and skill sets. Program Managers will also collaborate with Arena Managers, Arena Program Supervisors and Instructors, Rental Groups and Organizations to expand programming initiatives in ways that will solidify the progression of ice sports within each facility or between facilities within a close proximity.
This Programs Manager position, in addition to assisting the team in all programming endeavors, will also need to specialize in solidifying the transition of Learn to Skate to Learn to Play for skaters who wish to pursue hockey, organizing and developing Learn to Play programs in accordance with company objectives, assisting the transition of Learn to Play to organized hockey and identifying new markets and expansion opportunities.
The successful Programs Manager candidate will create and promote a team environment to reach department and personal objectives. He or she must enjoy a fast paced work environment, significant interaction with others (internal and external) and working on varied tasks that change seasonally. It is essential for the candidate to have instructor experience and an appreciation for both hockey and figure skating and the way these ice sports are related and can assist each other.
