Buyer I (Westfield, MA)
1.Process approved Requests for Purchase (RFR) in accordance with Commonwealth Policies and Procedures
2.Monitor inventory levels and generate re-order reports in the Meditech Materials Management Module to ensure sufficient inventory is available at all times.
3.Process all inventory item purchases and enter all inventory purchase orders in the Meditech Materials Management Module.
4.Communicate with vendors to ensure correct pricing and delivery requirements are in accordance with any contracts that are available to the Hospital.
5.Monitor existing purchase orders for timely delivery, backorders, and other issues or problems
6.Maintain catalogs, samples and vendor information to ensure quick and efficient retrieval of information.
7.Assist hospital personnel with the RFP and Purchasing process to ensure compliance with established procedures.
8.Enter all encumbrances into MMARS.
9.Monitor and run reports as needed to balance all encumbrance activity through the Information Warehouse
10.Remain current on all Regulations and Policies as related to the purchase of goods and services through the Knowledge Center, on line trainings and other trainings offered by Purchase of Service or the Operational Services Division.
11.Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or paraprofessional experience in purchasing work, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
An Associate's or higher degree with a major in business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.*
*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
