Grad Admission Counselor
Under direction of the Associate Dean of Graduate Affairs, responsible for participating in the recruitment of graduate students and assisting in the planning and directing of graduate admission activities of Regis College.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
·Establishes and implements recruiting strategy for visits to college fairs and professional fairs. Attends appropriate graduate admission informational and recruitment events.
·Develops prospects and appropriate contacts; conducts personal interviews both on and off campus, follows up in writing or in person; places telephone calls to all interested prospects in assigned graduate programs.
·Maintains high visibility and builds awareness of Regis College in appropriate industries; establishes and participates in non-recruitment focused programs; answers correspondence and phone inquiries, as assigned.
·Reviews applicant credentials for admission and recommends admission decisions
·Assists with the planning and implementation of on-campus events as assigned.
·Provides the Associate Dean with progress reports on development of individual goals and contributes to the development of team goals and strategies. Makes recommendations to the Associate Dean regarding recruitment strategy to maximize opportunities relating to yield.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Assists in the revision of Admission literature, as well as literature for current graduate students, particularly graduate student newsletter
·Advises the Associate Dean of current trends within the graduate student market.
·Performs other related duties as required.
·Duties require knowledge of graduate admissions and one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree required. Experience working with health care education programs strongly preferred.
·Considerable knowledge of the College's policies and procedures and a strong commitment to the College's goals and mission.
·Marketing experience as well as knowledge of higher education administration.
·Ability to follow through consistently on inquiries, requests, and suggestions.
·Ability to resolve problems and to develop relevant alternatives and recommendations.
·Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations for the College; and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
·Ability to form strong coalitions with internal and external constituencies.
·Assigns tasks as needed to Graduate Assistants
