Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the comprehensive speech/language therapy evaluation and treatment implementation of referred individuals with the goal of achieving maximum function; also responsible for the oversight of treatment services provided by SLPA’s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Completes thorough speech/language therapy evaluations in a timely fashion. •Provides quality treatment in compliance with doctor’s orders. •Develops individualized goals and objectives. •Develops and implements motivating and developmentally appropriate therapy activities. •Actively participates in IEP and IRP meetings including reporting progress, recommending future goals/objectives, and suggesting home programming as indicated. •Demonstrates knowledge of various aspects of feeding/swallowing issues and the ability to provide direct instruction in these areas. •Accurately records daily charges for treatment. •Accurately completes all documentation related to progress reporting and monitoring in a timely manner. •Has working knowledge of the various funding sources and requirements to insure reimbursement. •Has working knowledge of regulations, billing and procedures to insure maximum patient coverage. •Provides ongoing direct supervision and support to SLPAs through observing and actively participating in treatment sessions. •Provides ongoing indirect supervision and support to SLPAs regarding clinical skills, methodologies, treatment styles and tools, and paperwork requirements. •Participates in the interview process, probationary evaluations, and annual performance reviews of SLPAs. •Implements new programs as directed by program supervisor.
