Director of School Age Child Care and Assistant Camp Director
Under the guidance of the CEO/Camp Director, the Director of School Age Child Care, (SACC) and Assistant Camp Director is responsible for directly supervising the Hampshire Regional YMCA before and after school program, and supports the Camp Director in the management of the offsite, 137-acre Day Camp Norwich. The Director of SACC and Assistant Camp Director will function as a member of the total staff team in developing community relations as well as the interpretation of YMCA programs to the public.
This position requires an Associate’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Recreation, or related field. Four years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity. Basic computer skills are essential.
This position requires experience in organizing, promoting, and directing department specific programs. Knowledge of various resources for programming ideas and the skills to utilize that information in directing daily activities are important. Effective interpersonal skills are critical to the success of this position.
Salary: $40,000-$45,000. The compensation for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive medical and dental benefits package applies along with a retirement package once requirements are met, and generous vacation allowance.
