Position Description:
| Our Mission
The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall
growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college
golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
What is the AJGA?
The Association is the largest organization of its kind with a membership
of nearly 6,000 juniors from 49 states and more than 40 foreign countries.
In 2013, the AJGA plans to conduct more than 90 tournaments and 45
Qualifiers across the United States. The AJGA’s staff is respected and
viewed with great admiration by parents, players, sponsors and the golf industry.
In 2012, the AJGA provided 16,164 playing opportunities through the 96
tournaments and 66 Qualifiers conducted over the course of the year.
However, the AJGA does more than conduct junior golf tournaments. As
our mission statement reads "(an) organization dedicated to the overall
growth and development of young men and women." This includes personal
growth as well as competition. To help achieve this goal, we have put a number
of programs in place that aim to develop the next generation of junior golfers.
Such programs and policies include the Pace of Play Program, Code of
Conduct, AJGA Cares for the Course and the writing of thank you notes.
