school of human services: how to apply

Bachelor’s Degree Program

Applicants to the bachelor’s degree program must demonstrate a commitment to human services, have a high school degree (or its equivalent), and because our program is intended to be completed in 16 to 24 months of full-time enrollment, applicants must be able to either transfer in at least 30 credits from other accredited colleges, or achieve these credits through the school's prior learning process.

Application Requirements
  1. Completed application form (Click SHS Bachelors Application to download a pdf. version of the application.)
  2. $10 application fee
  3. High school diploma or its equivalent
  4. Official transcripts from all accredited colleges attended
  5. Resume
  6. Interview with a faculty or staff member
  7. Satisfactory writing sample (to be completed at the SHS campus to which you are applying)
All application materials should be submitted directly to the campus you plan to attend. Visit the campus web page or refer to the application form for mailing addresses.

Contact the campus admissions coordinator to schedule the interview and a time to complete the on-site writing sample.


Master’s Degree Program

Successful applicants to the master’s degree program must have a bachelor’s degree, 5 years experience in human services, and show the ability to succeed academically.

Application Requirements
  1. Completed application form (Click SHS Masters Application to download a .pdf version of the application.)
  2. $40 application fee
  3. Typed personal statement (Refer to #15 on the graduate application form. Listed there are three questions. Answer one of these questions for your personal statement.)
  4. Letter of reference that speaks directly to the question you answered in your personal statement.
  5. Resume
  6. Official transcripts from all undergraduate colleges (One of these transcripts must show that you have completed your bachelor’s degree or will have completed it before the term to which you are applying begins.)
  7. Interview with a faculty or staff member
