D. Early Childhood Education Concentration
The mission of the Early Childhood Education Concentration(ages 0-6) is to educate students to serve as early childhood professionals who (1) create high quality, collaborative , comprehension, consistent, culturally congruent environments
for all children; and (2) support and validate parents and families, so that communities will be empowered to achieve social and economic justice.
We offer two tracks -- the Classroom-based Track for students preparing careers in teaching, and the Administrative Track, for students preparing for administrative careers. A component of your learning will be an early childhood field placement, in which you will apply lessons of the classroom in a real world setting.
