Springfield College Names Isaac Williams Director, Houston Campus, School of Human Services
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 28, 2008 -- Isaac W. Williams, Jr., of Porter, Texas, has been named campus director and assistant dean of the Houston campus of the Springfield College School of Human Services.Williams comes to the new position from the Lone Star College System, where he has been director of business and industry contract training. He rose to this position after being director of enrollment management, director of the Humble Center, and vice president for educational programs and resources at Lone Star. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at Texas A&M University, Commerce.
The new Houston campus of the Springfield College School of Human Services opened its offices on May 22, 2008, at the YMCA of Greater Houston’s William V. Phillips Center for Leadership Development, at 2122 East Governors Circle.
Beginning Sept. 6, the Massachusetts-based college will offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in human services at the new Houston site. Programs are designed with weekend classes for adults working in human services. The college will accept applications for the September term through Aug. 15, 2008.
The new campus, formed by Springfield College through a partnership with the YMCA of Greater Houston, received approval last December from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Texas. Springfield College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The School of Human Services’ undergraduate program is accredited by the Council for Standards in Human Service Education.
In addition to the Houston site, Springfield College School of Human Services campuses are located in: Springfield and Boston, Mass.; Los Angeles and San Diego, Calif.; Wilmington, Del.; Tampa Bay, Fla.; Manchester, N.H.; Charleston, S.C.; St. Johnsbury, Vt.; and Milwaukee, Wis.
