Assistant Director Financial Aid - School of Human Services
This position analyzes student financial data; provides related counseling services for students and parents; awards financial assistance to eligible students and assists in the administration of the Department. Duties include: processes student financial aid applications for the School of Human Services; analyzes student eligibility for financial aid and awards funds; counsels students and potential students regarding available sources of aid and eligibility requirements; assists students in budgeting resources; assists counseling staff and responds to difficult financial aid inquiries and problems; certifies and monitors loan processing for School of Human Services; monitors enrollment and eligibility changes; and performs related duties as assigned.
Work requires communication, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Requires two years of experience in financial aid administration or related administrative experience to acquire skills necessary to administer complex office functions related to the establishment and management of financial aid policies and procedures, compilation of reports. Experience with PowerFaids is preferred. Applicant must have extreme sensitivity to the confidential nature of the counseling aspect of dealing with students’ financial aid issues.
